I see nothing differentiating members and staff.
You’ve got to be kidding me. This is your defense? You think the rules (written by the staff) specifically constrain the staff to follow forum rules when warning someone because they don’t explicitly say otherwise? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
Yeah, expect staff to follow the rules too? That’s just ridiculous. What was I thinking?!
I swear this is like trying to teach a pig to sing.
Go back and read post #33
When come back bring pie.
Wow. Somehow you’ve managed to twist your panties so hard they’re emitting an audible hum. Amazing.
You’re killin me, man.
Sorry, Giraffe, you’re clearly in the wrong here. It would have been VERY EASY for TubaDiva to make her point even more strongly than she did, without calling someone an ass. (The poster clearly was an ass, I just think TubaDiva was wrong to violate board rules by calling him one.)
Here’s what Tuba could have and should have said instead of calling the guy an ass:
“In posting this link, you have demonstrated that you are a jerk. We have a rule against being a jerk on this board. Violate it one more time and you are out of here.”
Doesn’t violate board rules and makes the point even more strongly. But somehow, it never occurred to TubaDiva, whom I believe was being a jerk by violating board rules herself.
I guess I’m about 40 posts too late to declare “Let the armchair quarterbacking commence!”
In other words…
Oh good god, enough of the “here are the words I think the mod should have used instead to make this all better”.
If you don’t enjoy people with contrary opinions discussing things, maybe your should reconsider your position wrt being on a message board.
If you don’t like people using different words than what you might use, maybe you should just fucking get used to it.
You should shut up. She’s a certified genius. Are you?
“Do as I say, not as I do.”
How is this any better? Are regular posters allowed to call another poster a jerk? No. Just because the word jerk specifically appears in the rules doesn’t mean it’s the only term a moderator can use. Jerk, ass, idiot, whatever, it’s all the same, and ultimately a moderator needs to be able to make comment in a way that is outside the rules for regular members. Otherwise they wouldn’t be able to warn someone for trolling outside of the pit.
Eh. Tuba’s an Internet Tough Girl; what else is new? I just try not to cross paths with her, and it generally works. I’m not too worried about it.
As for the rickroll site with all the popups, that’s sheer jerkery. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what will happen if you troll a thread that mods and admins have already shown in.
I don’t know what’s sadder: that your panties are in such a tight knot or that you’ve officially certified that you have no real argument by actually bringing peoples’ political beliefs and conspiracy theories into the conversation.
At what?
 x 1000
Bwahhahahaha!
I think my opinion is nicely stated by Giraffe and Fear Itself.
If Tuba had been any less rude it would have been pissweak. Crank it up a tad, please.
I have to concur. garfield226 is a douchebag. Further, the concept of rickrolling is douchebaggery. My question is, how do the 15 year olds who would think such a thing is funny know about that Rick Astley song anyway?
