The stupid bastard couldn’t even keep the lies straight.
Clear and imminent threat. Ties to Al Queda. Nuclear weapons. WMD. Niger yellow cake uranium. They hate us, they hate our freedom. Iraq attacked us (yeah he said that during the debates). Stupid fucker can’t even get his countries straight. It’s bad enough he’s a liar, what’s worse is he is bad at it and thinks he can change the lies in mid telling, and it won’t get noticed. And then we have MartinHyde saying it’s OK. Well fuck that. Here is a straight question Martin. If it was all lies, and all bullshit, then what the fuck are we fighting for? It damn sure isn’t to make the world a better place, and it damn sure isn’t making anyone safer. So what is the reason?
We came down so hard on Lyndon Johnson for his lies about Vietnam that he didn’t even run for reelection in 1968. (In the 1964 election he had won all states except for his opponent’s home state.)
I would never defend torture.
I wonder what John McCain thinks about the use of torture and these Black Sites.
I wonder why McCain doesn’t just rear back and punch Georgie right between the running lights.
Are we missing a verb here? I don’t get what you’re trying to say (actually, it’s a familiar feeling).
Bricker, I’m far from a tax expert (EZ my ass), so please take this as serious inquiry - I don’t mean to sound sarcastic if it comes off that way.
According to this, the top two tax brackets are those who make $91,400 to $163,225 and those who make over $163,255. The rates match up, so I’m hoping that’s accurate. If so, it seems like a while these groups are a vast minority in the country, don’t they contribute a whole lot of the tax revenue? Seems like even a one or two percent cut from these brackets would be significant, especially during wartime.
And you stated your position very clearly, and it seems hard to misinterpret, but tell me if I have it wrong. You’d rather cut spending on medicine for poor people than leave taxes for rich people alone? Am I missing something here?
The missing verb is “vote”, I suspect.
I think you pretty much got it in one. Those people work hard for their money. They deserve it much more than those deadbeats that are basically a siphon on society. It’s what they get for not planning ahead better.
Are you implying you got some in the oval office last november? As far as I know, Bush doesn’t use cigars, so what was it, a pretzel?
With regard to how things are going one year later, I’m pleased as punch. Cheney’s approval rating is down to 19%, Bush’s a little higher, they keep fucking up, and the GOP is working their tails off trying to keep everything under control. DeLay’s been indicted, Frist is under investigation and cracking, Trent Lott is calling for Rove’s resignation, and Bush is showing absolutely no sign of the sort of flexibility he needs to get his house in order. We’re looking at a big time failed presidency, and that’ll bring the republicans down for a decade or more.
Next time anybody asks me “What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever heard anyone say?” unless I’ve read the Collected Works of Henry Kissinger, this is what I’m saying.
They (the Bush adminstration) way over estimate the deficit projections so they can present the debt as good news.
I won a roll of GWB toilet paper in a raffle. If I keep it for a few more years, will it increase in value for a future eBay sale?
Latest CBS poll has him pegged at 35% which is ding!ding!ding!… a new low!
Sorry, folks. Obviously, I meant did you vote for the pro-war, anti-gay marriage Republican candidate? Or the pro-war, anti-gay marriage Democrat?
So the ends really do justify the means, I take it. And why did the war in Iraq need to be fought? I’m looking for a reason which wasn’t a lie here. Which pretty much discounts Iraq-AQ connections and WMD.
Bad guy, invaded other countries without provocation, ran rape rooms. Iraq 1991 or US in Iraq 2003?
Ahhhh. Ok. That makes sense.
I voted for the one with the exit strategy.
Interesting. Did you know that that is the highest trough rating of any of the last seven sitting Presidents?
It wasn’t obvious at all, and it doesn’t surprise me that you see the issues in such simple terms.
It was more fun the other way.
Got a personal favorite? I think mine was when he stood there and swore up and down that he would exhaust every effort to avoid war. That does for lies what outer space does for empty. And how he was compelled to go to war because Saddam stubbornly refused to give up what he didn’t have in the first place!
“Hand over yer invisible pink unicorns, or else!”
I never read that specific quote when it actually happened, so I never had a chance to believe or disbelieve him.
(B) I’d say he’s deceptive and that some of the things he said there were deceptive. I don’t necessarily view that as bad, in fact I certainly don’t view that as bad.
