Year book message

The time has come for us to purchase a year book ad for our youngest daughter, the last one to leave home. We are looking for something perfect. We have come up with lots of ideas, some examples:
We are proud of all you have accomplished.
Go out and conquer the world.

We hope you find as much joy as you have given us.

etc. etc.

The rules are only one to three lines.
It should be clever, maudlin, but not sound dumb.

I am open to any and all suggestions.

What time era are you from? Parents are not supposed to write in their child’s yearbooks. Fellow students and teachers are eligible!

They aren’t writing in it. They’re purchasing an ad that will be printed in every yearbook, as a way to show the world how proud they are. This concept has been in every yearbook I’ve ever seen, including my parents’.

That’s pretty perfect right there!

We are proud of all you have accomplished.
Go out and conquer the world.
Illegitimi non carborundum!

The parents purchase the yearbook? Where I grew up, the students were responsible for the contents and purchasing the yearbook. I was the yearbook photographer and various classmates were responsible for the contents. This was in 1971. I guess things have changed since then.

Didn’t you sell ads in the back? It was done in all of my yearbooks, back in the late '60s and early '70s.

Yeah, you didn’t sell ads to businesses and individuals who wanted to put messages in the back?

Si vis pacem, para bellum

Words to live by.

I wish we had gotten to know each other better.
Never change.
Have a fun summer!
