If the year 1901 is pronounced nineteen o one, Why does everyone pronounce the year 2002 “two thousand two” instead of “twenty o two”?
WAG: 1901 was pronounced that way because it was a lot easier than one thousand nine hundred and one. Two thousand and two is a lot easier to say.
