I agree with the charges getting dropped and contrary to the comments I think they would of no matter who done it
But from the AZ posters commenting on it this happens on a regular basis because of a manadatory reporting law on things like this its just this one gained national attention because of the 60+ charges
What I don’t understand is they dropped the 69 misdemeanor charges because the 69 people at the photo shoot refused to press charges, but what was their rationale behind dropping the felony charge? Though I’m not in agreement with the charges from the beginning.
The 69 charges based on how many people were there doesn’t even make sense, IMO, it should only be one charge, for the photog, since that was the only person that could see him. Other than maybe a few people directly next to him, the majority of the people in that photo shoot A)couldn’t have seen him if they tried to and B)from what I heard didn’t even notice it in the picture until it was pointed out.
Wow, a minor victory for common sense! Why do so many adults seem to forget the stupid things they did as teens? And why do some of them overreact? If my kid had done something like that, at the very least, he’d have made a very public apology to the entire school, and maybe spent some time contemplating what he’d done while picking up trash along the highway.
Lucky for me, my daughter was as goody-goody as I was… am…
I was on the soccer team in high school. We had to re-shoot our team photo because one of the guys had his balls hanging out of the leg of his shorts. I know of couple people kept their copies because it’s hilarious.
However, it would have been a better story if the 19 year old in question was just a little younger. I would love to see the situation get turned around and the entire yearbook staff get arrested for distribution of child pornography and everyone that received one booked for possession. Those are often strict liability crimes that don’t allow intent as a defense.
Note: I know next to nothing about how that works with Arizona or federal law but it would be entertaining and prove a valid point to see an entire school district booked for felonies because of a stupid prank.
69 charges of indecent exposure never made sense. It’s only indecent exposure if the person objects to seeing it. He was dared to do it by his friends, and therefore presumably those friends who dared him didn’t object.
And the news isn’t talking about any consequences other than the criminal charges, but there definitely need to be some consequences. Yes, we’ve all done stupid things as teenagers, and learned from them, but the reason we learned from them was because those stupid things did have consequences.
What if other players were in on it? Two guys in front of him just happen to be separated so his penis can be seen. All of the others could have had theirs out in the second row, but the players in the front row are all close together in all but that one spot.
