Yelling at each other about 9/11 (Split from the "How has Trump pissed you off today" thread)

Boy, that was mature.

You are the one ignoring the obvious answers because nobody here is telling you what you want to hear.
Just saying.
JAQ off.

Can you name any other steel and concrete office buildings in history that collapsed due to fire damage?

Dafuq does that even mean? It’s a term I am unfamiliar with. Go ahead; preach. It’s what you want to do anyway.

Have you bothered to find anything out for yourself, or are those “questions” giving your life meaning?
JAQ off.
And for once in your miserable excuse for a life…look it up.

Tell you what: I’m growing very bored with arguing with you. Clearly you do not know how to have a conversation without insults. How fragile your little ego must be.

It looks like the ignorant little shit forgot what forum he was in.
Let me know when you have anything new to add to the conversation, but in the meantime when you say something stupid, I shall have the good grace to let you know.
Because I’m just that kind of guy.

JAQ is short for Just Asking Questions. Jacking off is slang for masturbation.
I’m unsure which term you are unfamiliar with.

Thank you! The second term is fairly obvious, but the first one is news to me. I’m not sure why some people get their panties in a bunch about asking questions, anyway. We don’t all have the same life experience or exposure to the same evidence.

Well, and JAQing off is implying that one asks questions for ones own pleasure and not to get answers.

Can you name any other buildings that size that collapsed, period?

/thread.

Just the three that day, oddly enough.

Do you know any other buildings that size that were targeted, planned years ahead of time by an insane terrorist and brought down on American soil?
No?
Well, there you go.
I know it makes you feel all fuzzy and warm and safe to hope it didn’t happen. But it did.
Deal with it.

Fuck you for providing facts and shit. The correct answer is, “Yes OP, you are right and everyone else is lying. The real question is: was 9/11 planned by the Bush, the Illuminati or aliens?” When you give asstards like the OP the real facts then all we get is, “Where are your cites? Let me repeat my bullshit without any cites.”

Repeat ad nauseum.

Here ya go.

JAQ is not literally “just asking questions.” It’s people who keep saying they’re “just asking questions” while engaging in infuriating tactics.

There are two types: (1) the troll who is just trying to piss people off and (2) the person who claims to want answers but won’t accept them when given, always coming up with another doubtful question.

I assume you’re not #1, but you do seem to be #2. People are spelling things out for you, things that you should have already been aware of if you’d been doing the research you claim you have. But you are conveniently ignoring most of it, and then just coming up with increasingly dumber questions. Not questions asking for them to clarify things, but clearly opposition.

At some level, you clearly want to believe that there was something else going on, that everyone else missed. Or, worse, you think people did notice but believe they are lying–which would make it a conspiracy theory.

For any topic where someone is stubbornly ignorant, you’re going to piss Dopers off. But having it be about a national tragedy that affected so many of us? Of course they’re going to be mad.

The whole reason this is in the Pit is that what you are saying is infuriating. People don’t like that there are still people pushing this nonsense.

Yep. He’s another dumbass who thinks that “I have a right to my opinion” means “my unfounded and asinine opinion cannot be mocked”.

So what you’re saying is that you don’t know what a controlled demolition looks like.

No, the issue remains you.

There’s a reason 9/11 Truthiness is now banned from GD discussions. It’s because one after another earnest preacher of ignorance came to us Just Asking Questions based on false premises, scientific illiteracy and paranoia in hopes of proving to us all that they alone are the real seekers of truth and the rest of us unquestioning sheeple. And then when they received answers that didn’t support whatever batshit hypothesis they were clinging desperately to, they got all pissy. Sound familiar?

There’s nothing wrong with asking questions about things you don’t understand. But if you were asking questions in good faith, you would actually base them on what really happened and listen to the answers.

The reality is that everything that happened that day is consistent with a small group of terrorists hijacking and flying (or attempting to fly) large airplanes into buildings. The idea that somehow controlled demolitions were required to bring the WTC buildings down - or that the way they came down in any way resembled controlled explosions - makes no sense at all, and as already pointed out the weird Rube Goldbergian conspiracy of thousands required to pull off a completely unnecessary chain of events involving secret explosives and missing airplanes and passengers and, I dunno, missiles with freaking holograms is utterly implausible.

If you want a conspiracy that might fall within the plausibility limit you could try, say, the idea that the Bush administration got the CIA to prompt Bin Laden and company to hijack the planes etc. I have no reason to assume that’s what did happen, but at least it’s a conspiracy that could have happened.

So if you’re wondering why you’re getting such short shrift about your wild and ill-informed questioning, it’s because we’ve danced this stupid dance a thousand times and our feet are tired.

So what does it say about you who refuses to accept ANY answer that contradicts what you want to be true? Your position is “Give me answers that agree with me or fuck you!”
