According to Mr. Bremer, Iraq is now almost halfway (three steps out of seven) down the Yellow Brick Road to peace, prosperity, true representative democracy, and universal suffrage. I’m just waiting for the Congressional Chorus of Ideological Munchkins.
Dare I say it: what a crock! I guess the handpicked Governing Council is but a batch of homebaked cookies and a pitcher of lemonade away from sitting down and creating a Constitution that will solve all Iraq’s problems. All problems are still solved with a Band-Aid on the knee and a glass of lemonade, right? Oops, that’s in fairy tales.
