The astute among you may have noticed I haven’t been posting much for the last couple of weeks*. Well, that’s because I’ve been spending all my time caring for this little guy.
My second son, he turned two weeks old yesterday. Yes, he is adorable. (That’s my lovely wife in the picture. I have no problem referring to her as Mrs. yellowjacketcoder since she’s also a software engineer from GT)
As a coworker warned me “The problem with the first kid is the first kid. The problem with the second kid is the first kid”. He was so right. But I think big brother is doing a little better if we put some effort into finding a task that he can help out with.
Also, the new diaper pail with the anti-stink pellet is worth it**
*who am I kidding, I’d be surprised if anyone noticed.
**although I can’t open this one with my foot, which is a problem as I haven’t grown that third arm yet.
Retirement home? Over my dead body! (I reserve the right to revisit this statement in 50 years).
And he does have a contemplative look for an infant. He’s also perfected the “roll eyes with annoyance at parents” about 13 years ahead of schedule. (alright, it’s probably just random movement, but it’s my kid and I can make up his motivations for now)
Big brother got his ears from his father. Which is to say, he might take off if he ever learns to flap them.
Thanks again to all. I think I’m pretty lucky to have the little guy in my life.
Cutie pie! Congratulations and good luck on that third arm thing. (That’s always been my argument when people try to convince me that Intelligent Design is a Thing: Any “Intelligent Designer” would have added one arm per offspring!)
