middlewoman and I had our second boy last week. The 9 lb. 15 ounce linebacker is doing well, but mommy is understandably sore.

We have a four year old and it was a bit of a culture shock to go back to caring for every single need of another person.

And have I mentioned that they are ZZzzzzzzzzz… up at all hours of the night?

But there is nothing more awesome (or surreal for that matter) than going into a room and coming out with a new person that you love unconditionally.

Being a parent is hard work but very rewarding.

(A coworker’s wife delivered a 10lb 4oz baby back in December, when I was about 5 1/2 months…and of course, EVERYone who saw me for the next week had to say with an eveil grin, “Did you hear about Tony’s baby?” …Yes I did. Shaddup.)

How is Big Brother? When we brought Ivygirl home, she was fussing and crying, and Ivyboy turned to his father and said, “Daddy, shut it off.”

Didn’t work then, tain’t working now…13-year-old Ivygirl is a Chatterbox Extraordinaire.

Enjoy. I’m sure they will get into tussles now and then, but nobody else better mess with the Brother.

As well as can be expected. We are making him part of the experience, but he is having a few regressions like asking to sleep with us.

But he is being great with his little brother. It is really neat seeing him light up when he looks at him.

One funny story though. The first day we were home, my oldest son was watching us change a diaper. It got too cold and my 4 year old got a golden shower all the way across the room!

He got a HORRIFIED look on his face so I started saying I also got peed on. Well, that is just funny apparently, so for the rest of the weekend, he went around talking about how he and his daddy got peed on by his baby brother.

My most sincere prayer that Colin will begin sleeping through the night at six weeks of age - which is about the same age parents are tempted to pitch the babies out and let the cats raise them :smiley:
