I did it! Sunday morning at 7:08 we became “a four family” as our older daughter puts it. Laboring from 10:30 at night till the next morning was the toughest thing I’ve ever done, but we got through it, and things are going well. She was 8 pounds, 14 ounces, 21 inches long.
I think the household is waking up, so I gotta run, but here’s a slideshow. If y’all want gory details, I can share later.
Yay! Congratulations to all of you. Extra love to the new big sister!
And Chanteuse, “Spice Girl” is very clever, but I just don’t think we can allow that association. I propose Sugar and Spice - Mom gets to pick which is which on any particular day!
Yep, we’re napping when she does, and all things considered we’re in good shape for day three!
I too kind of like “Spice Girls,” but then wonder about the connotations . . .
And yeah, I’ve eaten three roast beef sandwiches so far! Hey, the midwives ordered me to eat red meat, so I’m only following the best advice for my health, right?
Big sis is totally excited on the surface, and yet just had a major meltdown over an unrelated matter a mere half hour ago. So she’s a little stressed. But she does love her baby sister and is coping as well as can be hoped. And yes, my husband says that I made a “mini-me” when I had Chloe.
The expression on your older daughter’s face is hilarious! Your family looks so happy, and I can’t believe how “normal” you look with the baby in your hands. My wife looked like she had been through a car accident and an oven by the time she finished giving birth, but you look like you could have gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson.
