Yesterday was definitely a Monday (mildly graphic)

Normally, in this fairly small town, we see two, maybe three trauma (mild or major) cases a week.

Yesterday, we had nine. In a single day. Even Doc was wondering what the hell was going on with this town.

A dog with severe urinary control issues, and a suspicious lump on its leg. (lump determined to be fatty tumor, and urinary problems being medicated)

A puppy that broke its leg in a fall. (successfully pinned today and waking up as I type)

A kitten having seizures. (under control now, and she’s eating again via dosing syringe)

A weenie dog that got mauled by other dogs. (three holes stitched up, neck swelling slowly subsiding)

A yellow lab that had been shot in the jaw. (jaw got wired, and he was able to eat today, good sign)

A cat that ruptured the muscle under its spay incision from a couple weeks ago. (site was reopened and muscle double sutured)

A kitten that was found in the street after being run over, with badly injured, but not broken, back legs. (tears in legs got stitched up, sadly, it was dead when we arrived at work this morning, probable internal injuries)

A cat with a skinned up front leg. (yet more stitches, she’s doing well)

A black lab with a gash across its hip. (you guessed it - stitches - she went home today, doing well)

And if you want to count it, even though it wasn’t yesterday, we had another puppy with a broken leg that was amputated Saturday, who is also doing well.

I’m not trying to sadden anyone with all this, but damned if there wasn’t something in the air yesterday. Anyone else feel it?
