I have my system set up to rotate through all the images I have for wallpapers, one every day. A lot of them came from NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day page. Lots of very cool Hubble, Chandra, and other deep-space images, as well as great stuff in-system, especially Cassini’s photos of Saturn.
Mike Rowe looking yummy.
I usually use a photo of a Doper cat. A couple weeks ago I fell in love with a George Sotter painting that someone brought to Antiques Roadshow. The owner had kept it in the basement because his wife didn’t like it. When the art expert told him it would probably bring over $200K at auction, he decided to bring it upstairs.
I couldn’t use that Sotter painting, of course, but I found Night Scene With Snow and I’m using that.
Until I switch back to another Doper kitty anyway.
I had to check this guy out. A “country troubador” who looks like something from a 70’s vampire movie?
I just listened to a snippet of I Cleaned Out A Room in my Trailer For You and laughed so hard I scared the cats. ![]()
This is mine, both at work & at home.
I’m such a sap.
He ain’t for everybody. Sample lyric “If you’re gonna talk, wear somethin’ purty.” He never breaks character, but there is a heap o’ irony going on. He’s also a crackerjack guitarist.
As well as the voice of Early Cuyler on Squidbillies.
I’ve been tiling blocks from here. Bright, personal interest, inoffensive at work.
Not your standard desktop… this one changes all the time.
On the other display I have a Japanese garden.
My favorite skyline.
Two words: Gaius Baltar
Pretty cool…
…but it seems to be about an hour and a half behind reality. i watched dusk settle at about 5:30 out my window, but it didn’t get to the shaded “night” section border until about 7.
And I have the proper daylight savings options set for my location, so that shouldn’t be it.
…or maybe it is the problem. Looks a little more in sync now.
My desktop: daughter Anya at the beach. This past weekend.
Global warming indeed.
I have an assortment of various types of images I change daily. Here’s today.
I took this myself. It’s inside my guitar. Before that I had Abbey Road.
For right now I’ve got a cute li’l catgirl.
This picture, not so much for the bald eagle, but for the corvid above it. It looks like he’s trying to land on the eagle’s back.
