Yet another eBay question: price on original receipt

I just sold on eBay a piece of electronics, almost brand new (used only once). I bought it for a great price (on sale) last week, but decided I couldn’t really justify the expense after all, and it’s non-refundable. I ended up selling it for slightly more than I paid. About 1% more, to be exact.

I should include the original receipt for warranty purposes, but is it acceptable to black out the price? Or is it better to leave it, even if it means the buyer may be slightly annoyed by it?

And if it matters - my starting price was below what I paid, but it sold by buy-it-now, which was higher.

If you didn’t mention the receipt in the listing, or the fact that item is still under warranty (for which I assume receipt is needed) then I don’t think you’re obligated to include the receipt. But I would send it along anyhow, and include a note to explain that the receipt is so the buyer can use the warranty. I’d appreciate the extra touch.

I wouldn’t black out the price though, that would seem suspicious. I don’t think 1% markup is worth the suspicion. (Personally I wouldn’t hold any size markup against the seller, so long as I get what I paid for, but I know not everyone sees it that way.)
