Yet another Facebook question (Resurrection of Zombie Posts)

Lately, in the last week or so, every post that gets commented on or liked rises to the top of my wall, if that’s what you call it.

Meaning zombie posts are now suddenly pushing all new information down.

I sometimes have 6 or 8 zombie posts before I see a new post.

Anyone know how to resolve this? I don’t care if someone liked or commented on a post from a year ago. How did this happen, and why?

There have been a few websites that came out (recently?) that make finding old posts easily. There was also this article (scroll down) that mentions being creepy by commenting on a post from years ago. I don’t know if people picked up on that or what.

facebook have the idea that they won’t show you the feed in time order, by default.

They will show it in “most important” order… and then that is some algorithm that is meant to balance number of likes and comments, and the age…

well seems these very noticed articles are getting some new comment or like, and then the algorithm is saying “they are important”… because they were important when they were new… .you see ? top left, “news feed”, drop down menu, choose “time order”…

as per this…

Eureka!

Thank you. News feed now changed to “Most Recent” from “Top Stories.”

Cheers.

Keep an eye on that setting. Facebook in its infinite wisdom doesn’t believe anyone would always want it set to Most Recent; after a few days you will find it set back to Top Stories again.

This is one of the many Facebook annoyances that FBPurity fixes. I can’t recommend it enough… Facebook is horrendous without it.

Yup. The fuckers changed it on me. Reset back to “top Stories.”

Fuck you Facebook, you cunts.

Yep, just came here to post this exact same thing. I can’t even look at FB without FBPurity anymore!
