Yet another ID the War Movie thread

I saw a film when I was a kid, which took place in the European Theatre of WWII. It centered around a platoon of Black soldiers. There’s one older soldier, who is deaf. The scene I remember is the soldiers walking down a road. A German airplane starts a strafing run, and everyone dives into the ditches – except the deaf soldier. He looks around and says confusedly, ‘Where did everybody go?’ just before he is shot by the German pilot.

Anyone know what it is?

Oh, I think it was a made-for-TV movie. Probably c.1972 or so.

Could it have been Carter’s Army ?

That’s it, detop.

Thanks.

De rien, mon ami.

Didn’t see it. Quite a cast, though: Richard Pryor, Rosie Grier, Billy Dee Williams… was it any good? Looks like it was released on DVD under the title Black Brigade. Here’s the Wiki article: Carter's Army - Wikipedia

I don’t remember if it was any good. I only remember the scene where the old deaf guy gets faded.

I have it. It’s kinda “meh”.

I have that DVD, and I got beaten to the answer.

Guess I will have to watch it.
