Help identify this WWII film

I remember virtually nothing about it. There is a black infantry unit in Europe in WWII. The commander may have been white. One of the soldiers is deaf, and the others look out for him. There’s a scene where the troops are walking down a road when an enemy aircraft is heard. Everyone dives for cover, but the deaf soldier is out in front. He turns around to find himself alone on the road. “Where’d everybody go?” he asks, and then he is shot down by the airplane.

Does anyone recognize this film?

Could it be thsi one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104721/plotsummary

No, the one I’m thinking of is much older. Late-1960s or early-1970s.

Maybe this? No idea whether it has a deaf guy or not, though.

This one then:

It’s also called Black Brigade.

I think that’s it. Carter’s Army sounds very familiar. Thanks.
