Yet another Slug spelling error

In the illustration for the Were 40% of Native American women forcibly sterilized in the 1970s? column, the door from which an arm is extended is incorrectly labeled:

STERILE
IZATION

Obviously, in order to conform with proper spelling practices, this should have been rendered as:

STERIL-
IZATION

In addition, we are reminded that on page 198 of Triumph of the Straight Dope, a teleportation device is labeled RECIEVE [sic] (http://www.straightdope.com/art/1996/960607.gif) So it’s not like this is the first offense. As suitable punishment, I suggest that Slug be required to write “I will endeavor to spell correctly” one hundred (100) times on the blackboard.

Thank you for your attention to this vitally important matter.

Oh. Because otherwise Slug tends to present the world very realistically in his drawings.

I suggest that Slug be required to spell when you be required to draw.

Fun is fun, but when you cross that line from fantasy to illiteracy, it endangers our very social fabric. Hyphenation unimportant? Tell that to an English teacher!

I would accept the sacred task of illustrating The Master’s columns with great awe and humility. This would mean more stick figures, but also fewer bodily fluids and smokers. And no more turkey-Cecils. Unca Cece would always be pictured in an appropriate heroic fashion. In stick-figure form, of course.
