Yet another song ID thread

Please help me ID the half-remembered song running through my head before it drives me batty! I heard it on the PA system at the grocery store a couple days ago and what little I remember of it has been my earworm ever since.

It’s a country-poppy kind of song with a male singer. Fairly upbeat tempo. The only parts of the lyrics I remember are “come back” or “come on back” and then “the things you said got to me” or “got through to me” or maybe “what you said” instead of “the things you said”.

Vague enough? :smiley: I’m not even sure that what I have here is correct. My google-fu is failing me, no wonder since this is all I have on the lyrics. Thanks for helping to save my sanity!

Poppy, up tempo, with a male singer and some of the lyrics… but probably not what you’re looking for. No idea if they had any US success. But, equally, I’ve given your question a bump for others to take a shot at.

Nope, that’s not it. Thanks though! This is driving me nuts. My co-workers are going to ask what I did on my vacation and I’ll have to tell them I spent it trying to figure out a song!

Aha! I found it!! Barenaked Ladies- Boomerang. Finally!

How I missed the whole “boomerang” part when I heard it in the store is beyond me. Good song! And yes, I know, they’re not country. That’s probably why it took me so long to find it. :slight_smile:
