If I remember correctly I had one short coupla posts tiff with sven (if it was her, it might have been another similar young lady doper). But by and large I’ve found her to be, though young and sometimes a bit shortsighted and typical for her age, a reasonably fun doper, smart, and generally having good input.
So what if she carries on and brags a bit about her time overseas? That IS something to be rather proud of, most of us won’t get to do that in our lifetimes. And as she matures, she’ll learn to tone down the “bragginess” of her Cameroon stories, that’s just being young.
Maybe I’ve missed the posts where she behaved in such a way as to raise the ire of some of the other dopers, and yeah her advice to **lezlers ** was a bit harsh (though things tend to look much harsher in print than they’re intended in real life) but I don’t think she warrants a scolding such as she got.
Just my 2 cents.
It appears to be something no one talks about, but everyone is kind of miffed about. lezlers thread was the straw that broke the Cameroonian camel’s back, you could say.
OK. Let’s get this done with. I hate him. Never really like Growing Pains, Mostly because of Alan Thickes’ difficult to understand Canadian accent. Then he gets all Christian with the banana and all. And now that he has Parkinsons, he is totally insufferable. So yes, I hate him. As far as your social life, we cool there.

For what it’s worth, I love your posts, even sven- I find them fascinating and hell, I find your life fascinating. Very cool stuff and you’re doing good work for the world- good on you.

You could say that but I think you’d be wrong. Those of us with a sense of perspective about these things think that all the butthurtedness is funny as hell and even sven is cool peeps. Lezlers is usually cool peeps too, but eh, we all have our off days. Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to see if an offer of coconut macaroons will get me into jsgoddess’ cameroonian game night.
Everyone? It looks like just a few people to me, none of whom had the guts to just Pit even sven themselves. I sure wasn’t sitting here waiting for someone to call sven out for talking about Cameroon too much, especially not in a thread where she hadn’t even mentioned the subject.
I would just like to mention once more, for the record, that I never mentioned Cameroon. I had no idea she went there. Hell, I don’t even know where Cameroon is. All I know is there’s elephants there. I said exactly what irritated me about sven’s posts and owned the fact that I was biased against her based on past posts, which I also explained.
This passive aggressive shit is being aimed at the wrong person, if you ask me. I may have been a bitch in my posts, but there was nothing passive aggressive about them.

I wasn’t waiting for it either, but I do kind of roll my eyes when she mentions Cameroon/China again, sometimes in threads where it makes no sense. That’s really the extent of it, because you’re right, even sven is good peeps, but I think a few people who think like I do saw an opening and jammed their virtual foot in their virtual mouth.
