Yoicks! Somebody stole "The Scream"!

And can you imagine the scandal of a shootout???

“Four adult and two children died, and AAAAAAH There’s a BULLET HOLE in the PAINTING!!! AAAAH! How could you let that happen?!?”

And Munch if you just throw yourself on your sword now, you could make the whole argument irrelevent…

I’m just sayin’…

Adrian Monk could solve this case…

What’s the difference between an armed museum guard and an armed bank guard? Is money more worth dying over?

Faulkner said “The “Ode on a Grecian Urn” is worth any number of old ladies” and I agree. If a couple old ladies or toddlers or girl scouts get caught in the crossfire, that would be unfortunate, but a perfectly acceptable loss.

I did and got links to the correct painting - and not much else.

Well, for Munch, maybe, but I’d have to draw the line at Roy Liechtenstein.

Maybe…after he finished making sure all the remaining paintings were hung perfectly.

Nothing, but in most banks in North America, bank staff members are trained to cooperate fully with robbers to avoid placing themselves or customers in danger. No shootouts with security guards.

After studies done in the 1990s new security programs in place and a primary procedure is to not interfere physically or engage the robbers in any way (that includes running out to see a licence plate). The robbery prevention programs are instead more subtle, prevent violence and increase police response time.

The studies were done in response to the fact that although the number of heists seemed to be going down the level of violence (shooting, hostages etc.) was increasing.

You can read about a Canadian study here but banks in the U.S. have adopted similar styles of robbery prevention programs.

The museum could have Howard Dean stand where the painting used to be and scream at regular intervals, as part of a U.S.-Norway cultural exchange.

Or so suggested a cartoon in today’s L.A. Times.

Wow. Dude, we thought you were dead. Where ya been? Can you paint us up another one?
