Yoo-hoo Electricians…

No need to worry…we are fine. Turned the breakers off and ran power from apartment 2 that is unaffected because of the rehab with new electric. Checked all fire alarms functioning and reviewed fire evacuation with the cats. Electrician was here yesterday and will return for an all-dayer on Sunday starting at 7AM.

Thank you all for the advice!!!

We have a winner it seems. Every other breaker shows low load. Electrician reports that 1 of the 2 - 110 lines is not supplying the load before the meter . The service is new so…issue should be at the transformer and on Com Ed’s dime.

Thank you Magiver – I will sleep better tonight!

That was what I hoped for. A lot less dangerous and their problem.

Cool, you had us all worried there for a bit. You might give your neighbors a heads up that the transformer is going to be worked on.

Done and done…Com Ed has fixed the issue. I actually had a very good birds eye view at him in his cherry picker from our second floor. Looked like he just stripped the wires to rid some corrosion and hooked it back up. The neighbors, I have learned, are hooked up about 20 feet down wire so no worries for them.

Also thank you to all you others that coached me through this. It is certainly better to be safe than sorry.

Total cost $75.00 (for the diagnosis)…on a Sunday! If anyone needs an electrician in Chicago I think I have found a good one. I was quoted double that for Monday from others.
