I’m so sorry for your loss. What a senseless tragedy. I hope you’ll be able to come to terms with this somehow.
Be well.

I would like to thank everyone on behalf of my friends and myself for your condolences. To be honest, I typed the OP the night I found out and it took forever to translate from Thursday-ese to understandable English, but talking about my friend and what an extraordinary person she was helped. I didn’t expect anyone to really notice the thread and I just can’t begin to tell you how touched my friends and I are, so I’ll stop rambling about it.
I apologize for not replying to the thread earlier, hopefully everyone understands. I’ve felt very impotent because everyone else in our group has been able to be proactive in helping get things done and I haven’t been able to help. Then Digi read my op and he was very touched because he said it was our friend. I felt so bad for causing him pain, but he said I didn‘t, it was just that I captured her. Other people that new her read it* and said the same thing, and people who didn’t know her read it and said that it was like they knew her, or like what Lieu said I put face to what happened. I realized that I could tell people about my friend, that was how I could help now. So, without knowing it, you guys also helped by making me feel better by making me feel useful now and for that I thank you.
I’m planning on smoothing out the op, taking out the end since it’s a bit vitriolic and having my mom read it for me at the memorial. Bless her heart, she read the post here and read some of the other posts and was asking all kinds of questions about the board, but the biggest question of all was: who’s this Cecil guy? That took a while to explain.
As to the drawing and quartering, since they’re thorough breeds in very good shape (generally ex racetrack horses) they’d probably think it was fun. “Oooooo, I’m running and there’s something holding me back, I should run harder! Whee!” I don’t think anyone wants our beloved ponies anywhere near him, thank you for the suggestion though.
This was different before I started typing it and I wanted to include the last pictures that she saw. When my friend Digi decided to go into photography, at some point in time Wilds and I dragged him to the barn and he started photographing the horses, who are insane hams. Ever the nurturer, our friend encouraged him and provided support and all kinds of knowledge, aside from just being a super friend. These are the last photos that she saw, and she loved them. The pony, Comet, was just feeling his oats that day and was having all kinds of fun. When she saw the pictures at the end, she said: Whooooo baby! Comet is about to turn four; he was born at the stables and is one of her little babies. Since this thread has been very sad, I hope that the Comet pictures bring a smile to your face.
Again, thank you for the support and condolences (even the support you didn’t know you gave ). It has helped a great deal. This is a very caring community, and for that I am grateful.
*Sans most of the last paragraph.
