You can tell how complicated a persons life is by how many keys he/she carries

Front door, Back door, Garage, Car. Office.

I sleep well!

Car key plus one house key

Car, house, garage.

Apartmen building, apartment, mail box, parents’ house, work, work desk, work cabinet, work mailbox.
Yes, I do not drive.

Shit. I have an office key that I forgot.

You see, if your life wasn’t so complicated, you wouldn’t need that extra key

I used to live well… Car x2, apartment, motorcycle… that was it. Life was good.

At the moment, however… ( I moved, and got a new job)

car x2 (old car with a different door and ignition key)
apartment
motorcycle
mailbox
friend’s key
last apt’s key (still moving a few things out)
work key
work key
work key (yes, I have three keys for work… very annoying)
motorcycle key
helmet lock key

I need to simplify

Keeping an extra car key in the wallet… Why didn’t I think of that years ago?!? It would have saved me a bunch!

I agree my life is more busy complicated than many, but I compensate with organization (such as keeping that extra key handy).

I have so much I want to do, and little time outside work to do it. For me, given my goals, keeping busy working toward those goals is a good thing. Others may view that as unwanted “complication”.

Also, people who live in apartments tend to have more keys, but that doesn’t necessarily make their lives much more complicated. You still gotta do laundry and check the mail, it just takes an extra couple of keys to do it.

I have my car key, house key, padlock key, remote starter, multi-tool, mag-lite, and nail clippers on my keychain.

You should see how many keys I carry for work.

Mine is a complex life.

I’ve got a very boring and uncomplicated life, but a sh*tload of keys.

I’ve broken them into 3 seperate rings, one ring for vehicles, one for house/garage/padlocks, and one for the office. Although, carrying all 3 rings at once does give me a rather large bulge in my drawers…

The title of this thread isn’t true all the time. I know people who have keys for things that they’ll never use/see again: old apartments, school locks, cars they’ve sold, etc.

Some people keep lots of keys to appear to be more important or busy than they really are.

Not too bad.

Umm… The guy who fixes the pinball tables and arcade machines in all the colleges in Oxford must be the most complicated person in town, then!

Just a reminder to retrieve keys from the contractor who builds your home or change the locks when you move in.

DH is a master carpenter and has a key junk drawer that I purge every year or so. He finishes a job, throws the key in the drawer (without tagging it) and they are all pitched whenever I get in the mood.

Now, DH is beyond reproach in the honesty department and would never even consider entering a home after he’s finished. There are those that would though … so get your keys back!

My ring:

house
work
car
truck
parents house

Front door key.
Inside lock key.
Mailbox key
Office key.
Desk key.

My desk has my “Suprakey” in it, an electronic gizmo whereby you insert it in the slot, punch in your code, and it opnes the doors in the office. Easy than a key, and we know who has been where.

I have about 20 keys on my keychain. I use exactly two.

Car key
Office front door key

I don’t know what the rest are for.

I discovered today that I don’t even have a key to my house, any door, on my keychain. I do, however, think I still have a key to my parents’ house. I can’t be certain.

(I use the garage door opener to get in and out of the house.)

Well, my wallet is hooked to my keychain (I don’t carry a purse), so there’s:

wallet
house key
garage key
car key
remote lock

I was at the post office the other day and looked in the lost & found box. Someone’s car keys were in there. How did they get home, I ask you?

I, too, have a pretty simple life but carry an absurd amount of keys: (And I use them all on a fairly regular basis)

Personal:
Apartment
My Car
Hubby’s Car
P.O. Box Key
Apartment Mailbox Key
Sister’s House Key
For Work:
Coke-Closet
Office-supply closet
Conference Room Equipment (front)
Conference Room Equipment (back)
Building I MasterKey
Building II MasterKey
Off-site storage lockbox key
Desk key
File Cabinet Key

Wow. This makes me look like I’m much more important than I actually am!
