you cant generalise about a nation? WELL I WILL!

you are the worst drivers in the world! but my word you italians have style! you look damn good! you have a style that sets the bar!! am here working in padova for a few months ( maybe a few years) and as am dodging fiats, ferraries, flucked up drivers trying to kill me on zebra crossings… at least I know that i will be killed by someone who’s dress sense is sublime, jeez how do you do it? its not just your clothes but its how you accesorize (spell?) them… its not easy designer label bought in style… its something that only you italians can do.

padova being a university town has lots of students. penniless and struggling no doubt. but you look so hot! you can make a statement out of … well anything or nothing. but its not just your personal attire. your small bars will have a print or piece of art on the wall which is …wtf?

I hate you all already and am looking forward to spending my time here! bastards!

Yeah, Italy is nuts. I think it would be safer to fling myself onto a bed of rusty nails than to drive in Rome. Yet, in the time I was there (admittedly, only about a week) I didn’t see any accidents.

It’s accessorize.

Or accessorise, depending on personal taste. I prefer -ise endings.

Not in this country.

Yeah, Italian style is sublime. I love their clothes, their cooking, their cars, you name it.

However, I hear Alitalia is major suck.

The airline is as bad as the trains are great.

I must say I agree about the Italian style thing. I worked on an organic farm there and people there almost always carried off some sort of style apparently effortlessly.

For example, the farm owner was completely oblivious about his personal appearance wore whatever, but still most of his clothes were nice and nice or not he somehow wore them with style (despite appearing to not have a clue about how to dress. Paradoxical, I know).

The impressive thing is not the trendily dressed young folk (though that’s pretty impressive), but the older poorer people who still manage to look good wearing unfashionable clothes.

I dunno. If someone wants to buy me a ticket so I can go back and re-decide, feel free.

I found them crowded, pushy, can’t drive for shit, they’re fashion is self-absorbed and over-rated and I couldn’t find good food anywhere. The best Italian chefs apparently emigrated or they hang out in restaurants I couldn’t find or couldn’t afford.

The people were not nearly as attractive as I expected, or as attractive as just about everywhere else I’ve been to in Europe.

The cutest thing about the country was couples riding around on little scooters. And the weather was nice. And the Vatican. And Sardinia, a welcome break from the mainland.
