You Don't Know Jack

This game was the greatest. It was smart, funny, and could readily be made into a drinking game. I found my old copy and loaded it up.

Anyone else fondly remember this gem?
Princess Leia: cinnamon rolls, as Buckwheat:

c. cotton candy

yes!

I liked pretty much all of 'em. I picked up YDKJ4 at a thrift store for about a buck-fifty.

Too bad that TV show with Paul Reubens sucked out loud.

And loudly out loud, at that.

Oh I LOVED that game! I should look around for an old copy; I had demo come with my Mac when I bought it like, oh, ten years ago.

My favorite part was the DIS or DAT questions. No one could challenge me there!!! HAHAHA!

That was a fun game. I always played it alone, and it mocked me for doing so. Sorry game, when I get together with friends we rarely play computer games together.

There was an online version for a while, had new questions weekly I think I remember.

I’m the king of Flickerpiss Nosescum.

I have the game. Loaded on the PC. Playing it tonight.

It’s time for a three-way.

I loved that game. That and Acrophobia took up most nights in the dorm.

Oh, sweet sweet Acrophobia. That one rocks, too.

Good lord, I’d nearly forgotten about YDKJ and Acrophobia. Those two games were addicting as all get-out. The thrill of coming up with a clever acronym, and winning a round, was oh so sweet.

LOL. Yep. add me to the YDKJ and Acrophobia crowd.

Stayed up way too late on work nights playing both.

My keyboard still has the Q, P and B stickers. Damn things won’t come off. But I loved me some YDKJ!

Bezerk Games will be missed. I loved Acro and Jack Online.

We should have SDMB: the home game edition. We get new questions posted evryday!

Acrophobia lives!

Had to open in IE, didn’t work in Mozilla (perhaps popup blocking)

You Don’t Know Jack was the first videogame that was genuinely funny, not just funny “for a game.” There’s yet to be one that has that professional a level of writing.

I saw the guy behind it give a lecture at CGDC one year, and it was reassuring to see that it wasn’t a case of their just stumbling onto something that worked. They really understood how and why it works; it was all intentional.

The “Movies” edition was the best by far. My favorite question:
Q: Okay, I’m thinking of a movie. It had Bill Murray as a weather reporter, keeps living the same day over and over again… what was that called?
A: Groundhog Day.

Next question:
Q: Okay, I’m thinking of a movie. It had Bill Murray as a weather reporter, keeps living the same day over and over again… what was that called?

Or you could just play it on DALNet, in #acro. Just make sure you have 2 other people.

I don’t know this Acrophobia. Tell me more.
My favorite incarnation of Jack was the TV Edition - because after winning the game, you could listen to all those clever commercial parodies, some of which made it onto the CD included with YDKJ 4.
