You gotta love South Central high schools--hundreds get into brawls

But it’s not much of a wonder: those schools look more like prisons than centers of learning. It’s no wonder they want to fight. (The secretaries are rolling their eyebrows.)

Sounds like jr. high in Flint, MI… Ahh, the memories…

Most high schools here do look somewhat prison-like. Earthquakes and redevelopment have spared only a handful of older schools that still have that “early 20th century neo-Romanesque school-or-college” appearance. The newer replacements are almost always drab and functional with almost nothing in the way of ornament.

I was just going to say the same thing- we lived there in the 70’s. Fortunately I went to a school for the gifted, but my poor brother didn’t.
