You have 45 minutes to tell me which movie to see tonight.

“300” or “The Lookout”? Why?

300 if you liked Sin City - 61% on Rottentomatoes
The Lookout if you liked Brick - 87% on rottentomatoes

I’d rather see the lookout

300 because it’s pure, unadulterated, stylized murrrrrrrrder. Sweet.

Nothing like celebrating the resurrection of Christ by embracing everything he was against.

Definitely 300. It’s a movie I’ll be watching in 10 years. The Lookout I might catch on HBO if I’m bored.

The Lookout. So you can tell me how good it is. Neo-noir, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose face I find fascinating. It’s a thriller, not a shoot-em-up, so it will require you to pay attention.

So I suppose 300 if you’re tired and disengaged, and The Lookout if you want something to think about.

Not hardly.

Am I too late in suggesting The Lookout?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt really deserves to be huge. That guy? Has talent.

I just watched The 300 yesterday and I found it surprisingly shallow. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t watching it in a theatre where the special effects can make you overlook the film’s limitations.

If there was ever a film made for IMAX and switched-off brains…

Maybe as a camp classic, a la Rocky Horror.

I would love to see them MST3K 300. Or Rifftrax, or something

Get back to me in 10 years, we’ll see. Right now, it’s just our respective opinions. But I know a hell of a lot of people IRL and online who disagree with yours.

Are these the same people who said “Armageddon” was the best movie ever made? Nothing like an appeal to popularity to shoot holes in your credibility. “I’ve got more friends than you!” is not an argument.

Having said all that … I will probably still go see “300,” but last night I went to see “The Lookout.” It reminded me of a cross between “Memento” and “Fargo.” It really was pretty good.

Glad you made the right choice, Lizard! Unfortunately, as good as The Lookout is (and as good as the reviews have been), it pretty much tanked at the BO. Still, thanks for doing your part before it vanished from the theaters.

Yeah, that must be it.
Gosh, you just won the internet. Aren’t you happy?

You were the one claiming it, not me.

No, I never said that anyone who liked the Lookout had no taste and thought Armageddon was a great movie. That slander came off your keyboard for anyone who likes 300. Since you were the first to flame, that means you win.
