On my way home from work tonight I got to my car and when I tried to get the keys out of my pocket I found that part of the keyring was hooked on a thread in my pocket. As I tried to undo the mess in the darkened carpark I consoled myself that the time I was wasting may prevent me being in a car accident on the way home.
On the way home an old guy turned in front of me and I t-boned him. Very bloody funny.
Last weekend I took a little beach vacation. On Sunday I decided to go to a beach that was a bit of a hike. My arms were loaded down with stuff so it was a bit of a pain to walk. As I walked, clouds gathered and grew pretty dark. The moment I sat down on my beach towel is precisely when the rain started. And it was a pretty heavy rain. I muttered a few curses, gathered up my stuff, and headed back to my hotel room. The moment I arrived, the rain stopped and the Sun was out again.
Oh it’s all bad. I recently raised my excess to reduce my premiums and the damage will be less than the excess. The other guy could barely speak English but I managed to gather that he is not insured.
While we were “discussing” the accident I yelled at him and felt like a real dickhead when I realized his language problems. So I rang his brother who came to help sort things out. We all shook hands and hugged (they are foreigners) after and went on our way. I’m 99% sure I am not getting a dollar from Moussa.
Nowhere near as significant as your situation, but early yesterday morning I was walking my 2 goldens, and I heard a nearby “thump” - as tho an apple had dropped from a tree. Looking about I noticed about 10 feet in front of me and to my right a dazed looking squirrel was sitting on the grass. Clover, on my right, was too stunned to act! With all the time she spends chasing squirrels, here they were nearly dropping into her jaws.
And it got better! The nearest escape tree was the one the squirrel had dropped out of, which was just about right next to us. So as soon as the squirrel gathered its wits, it took off running straight at my dog. After a moment’s hesitation Clover leapt forward, but the leash was too short and the hesitation too long.
I’m sure it happens all the time, but I can’t remember having seen a squirrel simply drop out of a tree so close to me before.
