You know, I love Jerry Seinfeld, but..

I cannot justify paying $168.00 for two tickets to see him in February.

A HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT DOLLARS! That’s outrageous! The venue where he’s playing is a crap building with terrible accoustics. If you’re not on the first couple of rows, you’re out of luck. Granted, tickets for those rows are $75 a piece (not making enough cash on those American Express commercials, are you?) but then there’s $18 of TicketMaster service charges. (Since this is not the Pit, I won’t go into the whole TicketMaster thing…)

I went to the webpage to see if there were tickets still available, and the only thing left is in the second balcony. Those tickets are $60 a piece, which comes to a grand total of $138.00. Which means I would be paying $138 to watch what appears to be someone the size of Mini-Me that I won’t be able to hear.

Phooey on that. I’ll just save my money to go see Slaptyback Fishtybuns. Whoops! That would be Englebert Humperdinck. He’ll be here in February, too.

Ooooooooo, those service charges get my goat! I drove out to Blockbuster Pavillion or what the hell ever it’s called now a couple of years ago to buy tickets to see B. B. King. I bought them at the box office window and wound up paying a “convenience fee.” I desperately wanted to ask the guy behind the plexiglas what exactly they thought was so convenient about driving halfway to Concord to buy tickets, but I restrained myself.

Acouple of years ago, I came in from work (offshore) and I heard that Neil Young was playing in town that night (solo, acoustic) so I thought to myself “self, this would entertain me briefly” so I am running errands and I stopped at my buddy Garys motorcycle shop and while I was there I told him that I was going to get some tickets, he laughed and asked if I knew how much they were and advised me to call, THEY WERE $125.00 EACH (plus matriculation fee or whatever), I was shocked and I railed against these outrageous ticket prices, Neil sold out two nights in houston, I was speechless, as afr as I am concerned, I have been priced out, I simply will NOT pay that much EVER.

Exnay on the Englebertay. Saying it three times in the mirror might bringay backay deewarday

No, alas, not Eddie Izzard… Although that would be fantabulous!

Seriously, Englebert Humperdinck is coming to Charleston. Although, if you consult www.izzard.com Eddie is currently on tour supporting the “Dress to Kill” DVD release.

Gastonia isn’t inconvenient. Gastonia is punishment.
