You Remind Me of the Babe - Labyrinth

It’s got muppets, singing, and David Bowie in tight pants - what’s there not to like?

Jennifer Connelly was too young to film a nude scene?

Well, there’s always Hoggle…

He was kind of the JarJar of Labyrinth, IMHO

Who do?

How about David Bowie’s huge crotch bulge?

Heh. Just kidding. I’m actually a big fan of Bowie’s crotch.

I love Labyrinth. ‘As the World Falls Down,’ the song Bowie sings during the masqued ball, is my ideal love song (a bit depressing, but so are all my favourite songs).

One of my favourite films, really. Well, one of my many favourite films, but it’s in the list.

[Bowie] Nothing, tralalaa? [/Bowie]

You gotta love that.

Yep, it rocks. As does the soundtrack. David Bowie being considered for the role of Elrond made no sense until I remembered this movie.

And Hoggle was not the Jar-Jar of Labyrinth, primarily because Labyrinth isn’t Star Wars. It all has to do with a little thing called “appropriate”, a word that has apparently been stricken from the latest edition of the George Lucas Family Dictionary.

Yep, one of my all time favorite movies.

Labyrinth is one of my all-time favorite movies. I’m glad Jennifer Connelly is finally getting recognition as an actress.

“Love me, fear me, do as I say, and I will be your slave.”

I’d have done it. Forget the kid.

Me, too, damnit. What was that girl thinking?

I, um, I’ve read some Labyrinth fanfiction, and most of it has Sarah stay with Jareth or find him years later and return to his kingdom.
When I was a kid and watched the movie obsessively, I always had to steel myself for the first shot of the goblins (in Toby’s room, at the beginning of the movie). They scared the hell out of me!

Labyrinth is the bees knees!! Anyone else love Luto? He was my favorite.

“Call the rocks Luto!”

Which is a direct rip-off from “The Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer,” which starred Cary Grant and Shirely Temple. They did the exact same song.

God, yes–me too!!

“Everything I’ve done, I’ve done for you. I move the stars for no one.”

Labrinyth is in my top ten favorite movies of all time. Haven’t seen it in awhile though–I think I’m going to go dig it out of my video cabinet later today.

David Bowie’s Area

Me too, ages ago.

(Rad fanfics, not returned to the kingdom, more’s the pity).

Do what?

a friend of mine (26 yrs old) mentioned the scene where Hoggles is face to crotch with David Bowie- her comment “Even when I was seven, I knew that was just wrong.”

Hey! What about Sir Biddemas?

I love how he wouldn’t let them across the bridge.

Sir Biddemas: “No one may pass without my permission!”

Sarah: “Well then, may we have your permission?”

Sir Biddemas: Looks confused, like nobody’s ever asked him before, “Yes…”

That scene always makes me laugh!
