I hate to extend a dead thread – especially here in the Pit – but I just walked in on this one, referred here by a thread on Og, the mighty. Or at least the mighty big. In the middle of all the hilarity, I was struck by this post:

Perhaps there aren’t many here, but ther is a whole lot of them out there, especially in USA. Everything from Southern Baptists , Mormons to Assembles of God.

These types have often a very facistisc attitude towards non-believers and moderate christians. They are more or less programed by their “god” and their leaders.

They often try to cleanc out the more philisophic aspects in the bible, something I think is dangerous - not only for them selves but also for us.

I owe a debt of gratitude to SH. I am a Southern Baptist – a deacon, no less! – and I had never realized I was a facist. Me, a facist my whole life. Now I truly realize what evil I have done. I renounce my facism immediately! (“Facism” is prejudice base on someone’s face, right? I first thought SH meant “fascism,” but that was no closer to what he was saying than “facism” seems to be.)

In any event, I hereby vow to do my utmost to never judge someone by his/her face alone, on pain of an Og-smiting. Although I might have to draw the line at Jennifer Aniston. I judge that she is a babe. Rowr!
