**Ivan **doesn’t have answers for any of those questions. He was just regurgitating all the usual spew the anti-gun contingent brings to these discussions.
They somehow manage to ignore thousands of years of human existence wherein it has been proven many times over that you are better off armed if you are facing a more powerful attacker. Ivan and his ilk seem to believe that the world would be a better place if smaller, weaker people would simply meekly accept being the victim for any larger, stronger person who wants to indulge his predatory impulses.
The plain fact of the matter is that weapons do level the playing field. When my first wife was targetted for a carjacking by a group of disaffected urban yoots, a tiny Beretta .22 changed her from a short, slender woman who looked like she’d be easy pickings into a harder target than they wanted to engage. When I was chosen for random shit by a carful of chemically-altered young men, it was a lowly surplus Makarov that decided them to seek their evening’s entertainment elsewhere. No shots were fired in either case.
Ivan apparently would prefer to live in a world where criminals may victimize others unhindered.
