Great. Now I’m back to not knowing what to believe.
Devin Townsend! But I get to pick the songs because they’d mostly be from Addicted and Ghost. And for my son, I’d probably allow some stuff from Devin’s Strapping Young Lad days. Anneke will have to sing because she has the voice of an angel and RVP will have to drum. I guess I better go buy some lottery tickets…
The Rolling Stones.
Sonic Youth.
Assuming Kim and Thurston are talking again.
I would love to see the Seatbelts live, and this might be the only way I’d accomplish it. So…yeah. The Seatbelts.
You know what, if I win the lottery, I can have two bands on consecutive nights, damnit. A weekend-long party. So…The Seatbelts on Friday night, and Rush on Saturday night. Because the one Rush concert I was able to go to, I was totally unable to view due to people standing, dancing, talking and being rude. Missed the whole thing.
How much would it cost to get Bob Dylan to sing Steeler Wheel’s “Stuck in the Middle with You”?
Jeff Beck
Prince
The Brian Setzer Orchestra
I would sit in with each performer. It’s good to win the lottery.
I’ve been planning a house party with Brian Vander Ark anyway, so I guess I can have him open and then have the rest of The Verve Pipe join him and play most of Underneath. Dinner and drinks and then Duncan Sheik. And I’ll spend big bucks on a sound guy who knows louder isn’t always better.
Natalie Merchant.
If she’s busy, Fountains of Wayne.
For a party? Type O Negative isn’t party music, is depressing-sad-time music.
Having seen them, I agree.
I would have to hire Korpiklaani and have an open bar. And hire drivers so no one has to drive home.
Puscifer
Lyle Lovett to open for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Yes! Can I attend? There’s a several other artists I like more, but Devin Townsend is probably the best choice for a celebration because he just does fun uplifting music and he puts on one hell of a live show and one hell of a stage presence. And Anneke… how can you not love her? I haven’t seen her since her days with The Gathering, but hands-down my favorite singer. I tend to like her collaborations more than her current solo stuff, particularly the range of projects she does, and her work with Devin Townsend is no exception. Though I do have a preference for her and Anathema.
Actually, I’d probably choose Anathema, because I haven’t gotten to see them live yet and, though not quite as much for celebration, they are probably my favorite.
Steely Dan, with Paul Simon being a close second.
Many of my friends would think I’m nuts, when I could have gotten Metallica/Black Crowes/Whatever.
But it’s my money, and I’d give a lot to hang out with Donald Fagen for an evening. I’d almost rather just chat and party all night, with the music being incidental.
Josie Cotton, if she’s still around and performing, and agrees to stick to her first album, plus covers of other singers’ work.
We need to find out if Jimmy still loves Maryann!
