Your Adjective

Here’s the deal: pick a single adjective to describe yourself, not as you see yourself, but as others see you. In other words you might think you’re evil, brooding or mysterious, but others might see you as playful. So the rules are: how you think others would describe you and only one adjective:

For me, it might be

playful

nice

Reserved

Strange.

Different

Reliable

Aloof

Emotionless

Reserved if they’re nice.

tall

sigh

Enigmatic

We actually did this at a team-building exercise at work. We were asked to give an adjective describing our co workers. The one that came up for me most frequently was “confident.”

(And I’m soooo not!)

Manqué.

eccentric

strong

Is this one supposed to be a surprise?

Anaamika: Cheerful.

Gregarious

Responsible

They take this to extremes and are shocked to learn I get speeding tickets and swear at old lady drivers who don’t go when the light turns green.

Hyper

Logical.

It captures several facets of me well… academically and otherwise, I tend to be able to categorize things and apply the calculus to them. Alternatively, I have a Spock-like inability to understand people who don’t act in at least a pseudo-logical way, which leaves me scratching my head a lot.

Smart.

(I was tempted to lie and say “Funny,” which I do think would probably be #2 on this list.)
