Your cocktail inventions

That’s like ours, but we started using the Canton (Ginger Liqueur) instead of the ginger beer - and a little bit of lemon as well.

And actually, rye holds up better than bourbon.

1 Part Orange Liqueur
1 Part Dark Rum
1 Part Sloe Gin
1 Part Cranberry Juice

Shake w/ice, strain into shot glass.

There was a restaurant on Long Island, now defunct, called Big Barry’s. It was western food, and they had a fantastic drink that they served in a glass cowboy boot. They called it a “Shotgun Blast”, and it was aptly named because that’s the effect it had on you.

Here’s the recipe according to a former employee on Facebook, and I MUST try it soon.

In a 32 oz mug:
1 shot rum
1 shot gin
1 shot vodka
1/2 shot 151
1/2 shot sour mix
1/2 shot oj
1/2 shot grenadine

This season makes me think of when my father would make up his homemade egg-nog from bourbon and ice…

I think that’s the best pun in this thread so far.

I don’t like martinis or lime rickeys, otherwise I’d, um, give this a shot.

I don’t really have a a name for it, except possibly a screwdriver to the head.

Very simple: 1 oz everclear in 3 oz melted orange juice concentrate. Slam, replace lampshade on head. Pee in potted fern if you’re so inclined.

Fresh snow, ouzo, simple syrup to taste. Stir. Your basic Black Jellybean Slushie.

A shot of gin in a highball glass full of 2% milk. We invented it half in the can at a pool hall once. I call it a Sweatin’ Santa.

That reminds me of another cocktail I made, which is the similar, except with honey liqeur instead of gin. Not too bad really, except I can’t drink more than a glass of it. Tastes fine, but aside from a white russian, I find milk and alcohol just don’t go well together. It’s the fat, I’m sure.

Apple cider and hot cinnamon schnapps.

Coke and cherry-flavored brandy. (But don’t use cherry brandy. I tried that once and it was bad.)

Pile Driver

1 oz Malibu coconut-flavored rum
1 oz Stoly vodka
2 oz orange juice (or Sunny Delight)

Apple Vodka+Orange Juice (no amounts, just made it at party a few years ago) (Mom didn’t have regular vodka or cranberry juice)

See, it started as a dare, but I think that it works well. The milk takes the edge off of the gin.

Now, when one of my friends from that fateful evening visited a resort in Cancun, he felt daring enough to teach the resort crew this new drink we invented. At first he (edit: he being the bartender) didn’t want to make one, but he offered to get a round for the barkeep too, who ended up making it like a slushie drink. Apparently THAT makes it horrendous, lol.

When he went back the next day, the bartender quickly hid the gin and said that they were all out.

I discovered that independently as well (Goldschlager and apple cider). Delicious.

4oz of jagermeister to 20oz of Dr. Pepper or root beer. A shot of cream or milk optional for the latter. I don’t have a name for it but everyone that’s tried it has loved it.

4oz of spiced rum to 20oz of ginger ale. Again no name, but it tastes like cream soda to me, so Hard Cream Soda, maybe?

Some that we invented when I was in college:

Scarlet O’Hara

1/4 vodka
1/4 peach schnapps
1/2 cranberry juice

Captain Morgan Brownie

1 shot Captain Morgan
1 shot Creme de Cacao
Mug of hot chocolate
small piece of dark chocolate to stir in

Peppermint Patty

1 shot Rumpleminz peppermint schnapps
1 shot Kahlua
1 mug hot chocolate

Once in a while, I’ll drink a peppermint patty in the winter now, but I generally stick with stuff less sweet when I’m drinking anymore.

First person to make and try all of these wins (assuming you live).

Please report back with rankings.

eta: please drink responsibly.
