Your dark thought for the day

Actually I’ve been feeling surprisingly good lately. About the only major worry is my desperate need for a job. This old post should more than cover it though:

Age, sickness and death: a morbid descent into angst

Life is not as a sweet as we try to convince children it is.

I have been in love, but I’ve never been loved. And it’s starting to become a pattern.

I will never have anything, and it’s all my fault.

You only get so many chances at love, and, if you screw those up, you don’t get any more. :frowning:

I totally believe this.

Love these.

this for me too.

I don’t want a funeral after I die, because I’m afraid less than a dozen people will show up.

How the fuck am I ever gonna get a career and make enough money to support myself and a family…

My past fucked up my future, and I’m afraid it’s a pattern that will keep repeating. As Aristotle said,
Good habits formed at youth make all the difference.

I can’t say that kids suck, but I don’t think I want any. I hope I still feel that way when my wife and I are too old to change our minds.

My dark thought? Half the people in the world are below average - and for what it’s worth, “average” ain’t all that impressive. It does not give me hope when I think of the prospects of solving humanity’s big probems.

Someday everything we as a species have accomplished will be reduced to nothing, with no one to care or even notice. Civilizations come and go, and time erodes all. Even the universe will wind down to a vast cold, dark empty void, punctuated increasingly rarely with the quiet bursts of decaying protons. Finally, even that will stop.
oh, and I could have had a V8…

One in 110 children is born with autism, and the percentage is rising, 10-17% every year. Many of them have some level of retardation. With the continuing outcry of “no money! no money”, the question of who or what is going to take care of them as they age is up in the air.

In all likelihood, I will be functionally disabled in about 20 years, and won’t be able to work, drive, or do much at all except take naps all day.

The American public is far more passionate about sports and popular TV shows than schools.

On a related and unsurprising note, in America, at least, the stupid people are winning, and there’s nothing that can be done about it.

There are two signs that you are doing the wrong thing with your life.
One is having more stress than you can handle.
The thing is, the other is having no more stress than you can handle.

Sux worse after you have the family, brother-B…

Contrary to popular belief, 90% of everything is not showing up. It’s sucking up.

Foolish Thunderian. One cannot suck up unless one shows up.

See, the other 10% is showing up, but that ain’t nohow enough.
