I have a Shirley Bassey CD with her rendition of “Goldfinger” on it, and I like it a lot. It’s been a while since I heard some of the other Bond themes, but even so I’d have to say this one is probably my favorite.
A close second is Duran Duran’s “A View to a Kill”.
I might as well get this out of the way. There’s only one Bond theme song, this one:
The others are hits that were created for the movies, but they aren’t the Bond theme song.
My favorite is Nobody Does It Better by Carly Simon, but that’s 'cause I loves me some Carly.
“Goldfinger” is the gold standard. The question should probably be "What’s your favorite Bond theme song besides “Goldfinger.” I’ll go with “You Know My Name” from Casino Royale.
During the last Academy Awards ceremony was admittedly the first time I’d ever heard the song. I was blown away by the lady singing it. Hokey and theatrical as it seems today, I was moved by how perfectly fitting her inflections and dramatic artistry were to the lyrics, and purpose of the song.
It was also a big AHA! moment, as I immediately recognized the tune as being used by Homer Simpson AKA Max Power.
Thunderball, Skyfall and Diamonds Are Forever are also pretty Jamesbondy. So is the theme to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, but that’s cheating because it’s an instrumental.
As pop songs, Live And Let Die, We Have All The Time In The World and Nobody Does It Better are probably better.
The OP is actually asking for favorite James Bond MOVIE themes. You are correct that that link is to the James Bond Himself theme that usually shows up at some point in all the movies.
