Your Favorite Fictional Aliens

Into PAIN! too !

Poochie.

But seriously, the Consu from Old Man’s War by John Scalzi.

I wouldn’t have heard of his books if it weren’t for the SDMB.

Hey, hold on a moment, I believe YOU’RE the one who stole my nick!

I’ll be having a few words with you, you…you…rank impostor.

looking around

Where’s my towel?

shakes fist

The behind the counter diner guy (3 eyes) from that old Twilight Zone episode.

The Ballchinians from MIB.

Stitch
Galaxoid & Nebular (Calvin & Hobbes)
Fix-Its (*batteries not included)
Marvin the Martian
ToeJam & Earl
Flatwoods Monster

Just off the top of my head:

Wookies from Star Wars
Andorians, Vulcans and Tellarites from Star Trek
Species 8472 from Star Trek: Voyager
Ray Bradbury’s elegant, doomed Martians
John Scalzi’s eerie, lethal Obin
George R.R. Martin’s warring pets, the Sandkings

I must respectfully disagree. That is my least favorite movie of all time. I hated hated hated it.

I have to go with the Tines from A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge. Very well presented in the book. But Vinge does tend to “humanize” his aliens, but, maybe that’s reasonable. It could be that self-conscious thought would be somewhat similar no matter the species.

The Who!s from Horton Hears a Who!

Any species that initiates contact with the outside by sending up a “Yopp!” is alright with me.

A person’s a person, no matter how small.

The aliens who kidnapped Bert in the TV series Soap.

Missed this earlier. Khan wasn’t an alien. He was from Earth.

Does anybody remember the aliens on “Married With Children” who came to Earth to collect Al’s socks for fuel for their spaceship?

The Amnion, from Stephen R. Donaldson’s Gap series.

But, he was:

Rhythmic, systemic and world control
Magnetic, genetic, dement your soul
Again I say, Khan maybe counts as an alien from Earth, because he was:

Rhythmic, systemic and world control
magnetic, genetic, dement your soul

But he could pass a blood test.
Fail.

Only after studying.

CarnivorousPlant: Chee Lan and Adzul were in the Poleseotechnic League series.

I would nominate Poul Anderson’s Ythrians. He also came up with the tripartite Didoians, Aycharchaych, the Ice People, the Mersians, and many others.

For some human boat owners, yes.

One more:

The aliens from the “Kids in the Hall” sketch.
