This is for SPECIFIC topic message boards, not ones which deal in the same relm of the SDMB.
My own personal favorite (besides the SDMB of course) is the adbusters forums.
Any other SPECIFIC topic message boards?

I spend most of my time at the Something Awful Forums, however they’re kind of a general interest board like this one(though with much greater emphasis on humor). The other boards I frequent are: Detroit Luv, a techno and (obviously)Detroit themed board, and worth 1000, which deals with photoshop and other graphics tools(mostly contests of peoples skills).
I’m a huge fan of Fark.com photoshop contests. The comments people make on the articles are pretty funny too.
When I’m not here I like to hang out at the Dumpshock forums (a Shadowrun board) and the RPGnet forums, for roleplaying games in general.
Excellent automotive message boards. Mainly on late model vehicles; they used to have a Classic Car forum but it was shut down due to lack of interest.
One caveat: Edmunds has an Official Annoying Rule analogous to those few on the SDMB that people like to whine about. Theirs is that you cannot link to or promote other sites that feature automotive message boards. They WILL delete your posts and ban you if you do it a few times. Other than that, it’s great.

The best one for theatre is www.talkingbroadway.com.
I help set up www.tiretracks.co.uk for the best on Andrew Lloyd Webber.
I read the Cinemarati message boards when I’m not here. There’s some pretty good discussion about movies, leavened with a little tedious discussion of politics.
If I am not here I am at Londes.com Message Boards, which are a Magic: the Gathering boards.
I am the moderator of the Forum Discussion groups, which includes Fantasy Magic Card Creation. Very cool, if geeky.
I spend nearly as much time at http://forums.prospero.com/foxxfiles/messages if the url isn’t a dead-giveaway, it’s the offical X-files message boards. I spend most of my time in the fanfic folder either posting stories or giving feedback to the other writers. <slaps on a “geek and proud of it” button>
Well, I run the Cyburbia Forums at http://www.cyburbia.org/forums/ - the theme is urban planning and cities in general.
A few of my favourites:
Zygote
Bad Astronomy
[ULR=“http://www.nature.com/genomics/”]Genomics
Bioscience
Open Secrets, which seems to be down right now.
I have a bunch, actually, but not much time to read through them right now.
sigh

I run the Shadows ofAmber boards, specifically dedicated to the world created by Roger Zelazny and the roleplaying game based on it.
John Betancourt, the guy writing the authorized prequels to the Zelazny Amber series, is a member of the board and several of us had the opportunity to proofread book two of the trilogy. He even made one of my favorite game characters and one of the Mods minor characters in an important scene in the book. I am so jazzed about that.
A message board about life & news & stuff in Japan. It doesn’t get a whole lot of traffic, and a fair amount of the traffic it does get is pretty mind-numblingly stupid, so I don’t go there that often.
I also occasionally post on the imdb.com message boards.
