We’ve had a couple of “what podcasts do you regularly listen to” threads, but this one is a little different. Let’s share and discuss our more obscure podcasts that we love. No “Car Talk”, no “Savage Love.” Let’s travel a bit further off the beaten path.
My recent favorite is a series of lectures from Corey Olsen, The Tolkien Professor. He’s an English professor at Washington College in Maryland, and he teaches one of the very few courses dedicated to the works of Tolkien. He’s a very engaging teacher, and so obviously enthusiastic about the subject matter that it’s infectious. His podcasts that are not recorded in the lecture hall are not quite as entertaining to listen to, although there’s still a lot of content in them. He makes me want to go back to school just to study Tolkien in an academic setting.
I’ve also started listening to Righteous Indignation, hosted by a few UK-based skeptics who love to discuss the latest “woo” that makes it into the news.
Both of these are available on iTunes.
So, what are your favorite oddball podcasts?
