Your funeral song

I don’t care about a funeral, but for those who want to come watch me get rolled into the fire, I’d like to have some countertenors singing “Here Let My Life” and other beautifully mournful pieces by Henry Purcell.

I want my wake to be cheerful and upbeat, people having fun and partying.

Personally, for my funeral, I am partial to “E Nomine” – to be precise, “Jetzt ist es still”. For those who want to know, here goes the song and here go the lyrics

That’s a good one. One of my favorite Replacements songs.

Not Yet Dead from Spamalot?

Not mine, but The Royal Piper learned and played the B-52s’ “Rock Lobster” for our friend Neal, who died last year on February 7th. This was Neal’s wish: “Rock Lobster” on bagpipes, and Al (the Piper) delivered far beyond what we could have imagined. He was a wonderful performer, and is one of the nicest guys ever.
