Your "instant boner" actors/actresses in character

Alas, I haven’t spotted that one on Netflix Streaming :frowning:

Yup. That’s why I mentioned that the still photos don’t do her justice. It wasn’t just her looks, it was how she moved. I mean, she’s not even trying to act sexy. It was just the combination of looks, movement, and facial expressions that did it for me.

You misspelled Karen Gillan, btw.

Seriously, though - Rose is my wife and daughter’s favorite companion.

Speaking of Billie Piper, you know that blue jacket she wears in “New Earth”? It’s in my bedroom.

I’m gonna go with Penelope Cruz, the less makeup the better. (She has begun overdoing it of late.) If I had to pick a role, Vanilla Sky, I suppose.

Also, Kelly Macdonald in Trainspotting. It’s in the way she carries herself as much as anything.

Christina Applegate in “Married with Children”.

Willow, in Buffy .

Diana Rigg in the Avengers, the real one, not the recent name rip off.

Jennnifer Aniston in Friends.

And Kaley Cucou in the Big Bang Theory.

It’s weird because I had the exact opposite feeling. I just could never see any chemistry between Wash and Zoe and could never accept them as a couple because of it. (And it wasn’t a Mal and Zoe shipping thing. Mal obviously should have hooked up with Inara.) I remember watching the series and thinking that maybe at some point Whedon will give us some back story and show us why these two are a couple. But of course that never happened.

Scarlett Johanssen, as Black Widow. She’s hot in everything, of course, but the catsuit is a really good choice for her.

Helena Bonham Carter, in most of her roles. When I was watching The King’s Speech, whenever she came on, my brain lost the main plot, and went onto a continual loop of “I want to have sex with her”. Occasionally, my consciousness managed to get in a thought of “Wait, that’s the Queen Mum”, but to no avail.

Keira Knightly, especially in the Pirates movies. Still pictures never seem to do her justice, though.

I never could buy Simon and Kaylee’s scenes. I don’t know if it has anything to do with Maher’s being gay IRL (I know there are gay actors who play hetero convincingly of course), but they just didn’t fit. (I haven’t really seen Maher in enough outside Firefly to know if he’s a good actor.)

Valerie Bertinelli in One Day at a Time.

Oh to be 13 again…

I could easily buy Kaylee’s pining for Simon, that was totally believable. And Simon not even noticing Kaylee was totally believable as well. He was easily able to pull that off, where a lesser man would falter.

I must be faceblind. I never thought Inara was that sexy. But I thought the woman in “V” was very sexy, and I didn’t realize they were the same person until I looked her up to see who she was.

The instant boner girl that immediately comes to mind, though, is Brooklyn Decker coming out of the water in the ads for “Just Go With It.”

Strangely, although boobs are my favorite body part by far, it’s her hips that make me want to have her children.

Holy crap yes. As a woman I have to say I instantly felt like a bridge dwelling troll just watching her. Breathtaking.
I’m sure I’ll think of others but off the top of my head:

Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman on True Blood. I think he’s pretty delicious most of the time but there is something truly grrrowwwl about him as that character. He said something truly awful and violent to a girl in the opening Sunday night while grabbing her crotch, and gawd help me I about melted.

and

Jonathan Rhys Myers as Henry VIII in The Tudors. I know he didn’t look at THING like the real Henry but holy hell, who’d want to see some obese ginger humping on women when you could see JRM? He’s so intense and gorgeous in that show he nearly made me forget Henry Cavill even when they shared scenes and Henry Cavill is one panty droppin man.

Hands down, Dennis Quaid in The Big Easy. The first shot is him turning around with that shit-eating grin on his face and it just gets better from there. “Your luck’s about to change, cher.” Swoon.

She still looks good. She’s aged like a female John Stamos.

I’m probably the only one here who thought Mackenzie Phillips was way hotter on that show. Not prettier, but definitely more sexual.

You’ve reminded me to mention my first “instant boner moment”. I was 11. Watching Star Wars in the theater in 1977.

Princess Leia in the “Aren’t you a little short for a stormtrooper?” scene*. I just thought she was amazingly beautiful. And truth? That scene had exactly the same effect on me when I watched the “enhanced” version in the theater 20 years later at the age of 31.

  • And now that I think about it, I wonder if that scene — Leia in “jail”, and having been subjected to, erm, “enhanced interrogation” — might have had something to do with my BDSM fetish, which I realized I was into by the time I was 14.

I had never seen Adrien Brody until I saw him receive his Oscar for “The Pianist.” Instantaneous turn-on for me.

The same thing when I saw Hugh Laurie winning an award for “House.” I was an instant fan of the show and the actor.

I didn’t really think she was all that special in Iron Man 2 but I could fuck-start the space shuttle for Scarlett Johansson as she appears in The Avengers. See also Rose McGowan in Scream and Summer Glau in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

No, I could accept that also. These were the pairings I saw as obvious: Mal and Inara, Simon and Kaylee, and of course Book and Jayne (you could just see the barely contained sexual tension between those two).

Joe Manganiello as Alcide Herveaux on True Blood. May they continue to seize every occasion to have him take off his shirt.

Franka Potente in The Bourne Identity
