The OP humbly requests spoiler tags for the barf talk, mmkay? This is a food thread, so hopefully it can stay appetizing. Thx

Sorry. I think the worst of the TMI is over, though. My hair is several different lengths, all long, and I have difficulty grabbing it all out of my face at once, especially while suffering a massive barfsplosion.

Two bottles of Cold Duck and a bunch of Better Cheddar crackers. And a few beers.

My husband didn’t eat - he had his very first ever in his lifetime migraine. And boy does he now have sympathy for me.

Um… why don’cha give me a call and we’ll do lunch! On you, of course.

Apologies. I actually thought the same thing when I read Dung Beetle’s post, but my curiosity got the better of my sense of propriety.

We had our new year party on Saturday night, so New Year’s Eve itself was nothing special, in our house. (My wife didn’t even stay up for midnight.)

I sliced some potatoes and leftover steak, and fried them in about a half-stick of butter, with a lot of Bacon Salt.
I think I had a Guinness with it.

We went to a soup restaurant in Chicago, so I had …

Broccoli and Cheese Soup
Saltine Crackers
Root Beer

Nothing too fancy. Unless you count the Swedish Fish I later bought at Walgreens

Chicken fried steak, mashed potaoes, cream gravy and peas. Ice cream for dessert. And several Beam&Cokes…

Chili dogs and champagne.

Turns out I had my New Year’s Dinner on the second at The Catfish Place.

The Florida Cracker Platter
Deep Fried Catfish from Okeechobee (cornmeal breading).
Deep Fried Turtle (local softshell)
Deep Fried Gator (prime tail)
Deep Fried Frog Legs (hip meat and flippers)
Cocktail Sauce and Tartar Sauce

French Fries, Sweet Corn on the Cob, and Salad.

My favorite? The Turtle. Really the first time I’ve ever had substantial and tangible turtle.I’ve had turtle soup before, but it was, well, soupy and I was very young. My Dad always said that turtle had the flavor of seven different meats combined. I’m not sure which seven meats they were, but I can definitely see where he’s coming from. It reminded me of a buttery veal-pork-beef-lamb-pigeon-goat-fish nugget. Unbelivably tasty with a nice texture.

The Catfish Place is a must do if you’re visiting Disney.
