Your Multitool Of Choice

If they can’t fix it, they will replace it.

I own five Leatherman tools.

Both a swiss army knife and a leatherman in my purse. Never dreamed they’d ever see as much use as they do.

Pliers… can be used as tweezers?

That’s what I’m worried about - I’ve looked at their current tools and none include all the functions of my PST II, yet are as small. Particularly problematic are the scissors and diamond file. I don’t really like their Juice line for their lack of locking blades. The smallest with all the tools I’m looking for is the Wave, and I guess that’s what most people are thinking, seeing how popular it is. Only one person has a larger tool (Super Tool)? I’m thinking if I’m going big, I might as well go all the way, but not carry it every day. The Charge TTi is looking fine…

The opening-assisted knife looks interesting, but self-opening knives are even more tightly regulated than locking ones.

I had a bad experience with the Swiss Army Card.

Since then, I’ve used specialized tools with one function.

However, I did use a craftsman multi-head screwdriver ring for a while (the round thing with 4 different screwdriver heads) for a while, but it chopped up my pockets really bad.

I keep an el cheapo no name brand Leatherman copy in my laptop bag that goes to work with me. I don’t carry anything in my pockets, carrying knives is illegal in Victoria.

When I’m in the car I have a toolbox in the boot and at home I have plenty of tools around so I rarely use a multi tool there.

I was issued a Gerber like Uncle Rojelio’s when I came to work at the USPS, but the locking tab broke on one of the handles, so I turned it in and got one like Paintcharge has.Having a scissors is nice, but it doesn’t crimp wire connectors as effectively as the larger one.

I wear it on my belt almost constantly, and I consider it a good day at work when it’s the only tool I need to use.

Well, I’m amazed. About 45 days after I sent my tool out, I got a replacement in the mail. No questions asked, even though I broke it doing something it wasn’t designed to (using the file as a lever), what’s really great is they even mailed it overseas for free! And gave a nylon holster! But less than one week ago I just bought a Style PS because I didn’t want to carry such a big tool around.

They sent a Rebar, which is a bit bigger than my PST II but seems to be in the same price range. Does anyone know what the awl is for? So I just stick it into leather, like a needle? But won’t it make triangular-shaped holes? And how about the hole in the awl? Should I thread it, punch it through then pull the thread from the other side? I wish it had a scissors, though. I’m thinking of selling or trading…

I thought having 2 Leathermans and 2 Victorinoxes was excessive, then I saw people who had dozens of tools. I guess they’re fun to collect, hope this isn’t a slippery slope.

Leatherman Wave, one more vote.

3 more votes.
(I have one in each car, and one in my computer bag).

I have three multitools because each has tools that the other two lack. I don’t have multiples in different places, because I always have my three standard ones on my person.

Actually I guess I have two more, but I never use them. One is a lower-quality off-brand one that I stopped using when I inherited the Leatherman, and the other is mostly a joke, and includes a hammer, but which is way too bulky to be practical.
