I haven’t read the comic book. I glanced at it in a bookstore and saw a drawing of what was supposed to be a resurrected Fred, but mysteriously had–how best to put it?–huge boobies. It put me off.

Illuria does have shape-shifting powers. It’s not impossible that she might have increased the assets somewhat, before Fred takes over.
It works even better when we find out that Fred didn’t actually take over, but that Illuria was just involuntarily acting how she thought Fred would act.And it’s not it ever really happened, anyways.
Still, if you really don’t want to read the comics, you can always just read the synopsis online. Then you don’t have to worry about the Most Common Superpower.
