I’m a bigger build than my mother, fairer skinned, lighter haired and taller than her, but we are very similar and people do remark on the likeness.
I look more like my maternal grandmother than my mom but the resemblance between me and mom is close enough that we’ve been mistaken for sisters. Which means that she either looks fabulous for her age (she does) or I look older than I am
My parents look extremely different; Dad was a big redheaded, freckled ex-college football player, Mom a tiny brown Vietnamese lady, so I in turn look pretty distinct from both.
I’m an inch or two shorter and about 125 pounds lighter than my dad was at 40. You can tell I’m his son from photos, but that’s about it.
Male, 48.
Generally, no. I get my height and the length of my limbs (which are unusually long) from my dad, but otherwise I bear a stronger resemblance to my mother and her side of the family.
Male 62. I have my mother’s eyes and cheekbones and my father’s jaw. Over the years I’ve kept switching between looking like one or the other.
I look like my paternal Grandmother, but my Mom prefers to say I look like her…
Well according to the OP in this thread your mom is a skank and you are a bastard.
Moving to MPSIMS as the OP requests.
No I don’t look at all like either of my parents.
Male, 43. I am a clone of my father. The only difference is I am muscular and he was always frail due to the fact that I work out a lot and he had childhood polio. I can see the resemblance in old photos of him or if I catch a reflection of myself by surprise.
Male, 53.
I don’t resemble my father at all at this age. Though my sisters say I have his snarkiness, attitude, and wit.
The “current age” qualifier is a little off, as my doppleganger parent did not live to my age.
However, facially I am a double for my same-sex parent - except for the fact that they were obese and I am slender. There is a strain of facial resemblance that travels through that side of the family, we see it in cousins & uncles.
My physique came from the other parent’s side of the family.
I don’t think so. He was pale Irish/German. Blonde as a child but with dark hair and very blue eyes as an adult. My complexion takes more from the Italian maternal side although I do have light (green) eyes. I’m 5-9. He was 6-3. Facially I don’t see it.
My father and i look nothing alike. I am, however, a spitting image of my mother’s brother. People ask why I don’t like looking at pictures of myself. It’s because I’m not the guy in the picture. It’s my uncle posing in pictures with my family.
It’s very disturbing to look in the mirror, and see my uncle looking back at me.
I think that by my current age, my father already had a full beard, which I do not (just a moustache). And we’re balding in a different pattern: He had a bald spot on top which grew to cover his whole head, while I’m thinning on top, but mostly receding from the front (except for a lock in the middle of my forehead that’s hanging on tight). He was also a few inches taller than me, and more heavily built.
Pictures of him from before he grew his beard, though, look a lot bit like me. I do also have some features that come from my mother’s side, though: I have a mole on the side of my nose that’s shared by a maternal uncle and my maternal grandfather, and nearly everyone in my maternal family has the same toenails. I’m not sure where I got my balding pattern, since most of the men in my mother’s family kept their hair, and as I said it’s a different pattern than my father.
I strongly resemble my mother when she was my age. The details aren’t all the same-- she’s got way more freckles, and a couple of inches on me, and I’m chubbier, but we’ve got the same pattern of grey hair-- slight streak near the front of otherwise dark brown waves.
I take after my mother’s side of the family, not my father’s. So no. But if you look at pictures of my uncle, his son (my cousin) and I standing side by side, the family resemblance is scary.
I not only look like my mother, but we’re both starting to look like clones of my grandmother, her mother.
Female, 52. I don’t look anything at all like my mother, except for being very tall. I DO look like her mother and one of my maternal aunts, so there’s no question where I came from.
Female, 45, there’s a slight enough resemblance that people usually know we are mother and daughter when we are together. I do look just like the female version of my father though.
