Hey everybody!

A couple more “One” Songs.
One - Ringo Starr
One - Bee Gees
I love Ringo! But, I’ll give this one to the Brothers Gibb.
^ This Beatles guy will never side with a Gibb brother, regardless of composition.
Heh, has “Gloria” been mentioned yet?
Complained here before about proto-garage stuff (“Dity Water”, “96 Tears” come to mind), but then, there’s also Laura, so, I’m not sure who to poo-poo more, here.
Can’t really say that the Roxy Music version of “Avalon” is a cover of a Benny Goodman classic, but I will say that despite the crisp snappiness of the latter, I’ll go with Mr. Ferry’s crooning of what is IMO one of their best numbers. (along with “Out of the Blue”, “The Strand”, “Editions of You”).
Have a spidey feeling this might’ve already been mentioned?
David Bowie vs
Faith No More
Never heard the latter tune before - not too darn bad!
A tie?
NOT ENOUGH OPINIONATED POSTS HERE!!! ![]()
Back when such things were subversive (not saying they were BETTER times)…
Jill for the win. The flow of that first verse is good times.

I’ll go with Cage the Elephant on this one.
There’s also a song by Zuzu called Skin and Bone, close but no “s” (so no direct YT embed for her). But I mention it as a near miss because Cage the Elephant, Lund and Zuzu all released their songs within the same 12 month period which is kinda interesting.
“Changes” by Sugar came up in this thread, and inspired by this I’m now listening to “Copper Blue” and spotted another pair. “Helpless” by Sugar and Neil Young’s “Helpless” by CSN&Y. As much as I love Neil, I have to go with Bob Mould here:
And the Kinks.
Ooh! I wanted to find a way to work this in here without referring to modern vampire movies, and I found it!
ELO - “Twilight”
Yuiko Tsubokura - “Twilight” from Bubblegum Crisis, Episode 4: “Revenge Road”
Tsukbokura also gets a two-fer with Great White for “Rock Me”
