I never thought Kathy Griffen was funny, but someone should grab her by the pussy and, applying personal integrity, demonstrate to her where the lines are.
Did you just propose that Griffen should be raped for what she did? You are one sick, twisted person.
There is no reason to make light of the fact that Trump sexually assaults women. But thanks for reminding me what a giant fucking scumbag he is.
First time I ever thought of Trump as John the Baptist!
someone please step in here and make me believe that photo is indeed shocking and or offensive.
Kathy Griffin’s face is what made me cringe, but the image as a whole is just not worth seeing twice and certainly not enough to get worked up about.
Can someone explain what the ‘joke’ is in the photo of Kathy with Trump’s head.
I mean, I get jokes. Haha, funny. Jokes. But when I see someone holding the bloodied head of someone else the message i get from that is that they are going to cut that person’s head off, or expect someone else to do so. What context am I missing that makes this ‘funny’ or expected to make this funny?
It’s performance art. It’s very deep, because it makes you think. Think deep thoughts.

I used to fight with my English teachers about Shakespeare’s meaning. “Is this what he really meant or is it just some bullshit that you are attempting to inflict upon us poor students to make yourself appear clever?”
I admit I’m no where near as bright as Kathy to understand her ‘deep’ meaning on this matter.
I can’t believe Kathy Griffin released this photo without thinking about the ramifications of her actions. Who does she think she is, the president?
Apologies to Sarah Silverman.
You are the biggest jackass on the SDMB.
There are at least two posters on this board that I’ve always thought very highly of and several others that I thought were pretty good people in the main who have all utterly lost their shit since Trump’s election and have revealed sides to their personalities that I (and possibly, they) never knew they had. Some have completely abandoned reason and can no longer think straight, some seem to be in a permanent spittle-flecked rage and can no longer think straight, and others have become downright sociopathic. Siam Sam seems to have become a mixture of all three.
I realize we conservatives are supposed to be rejoicing and bathing ourselves in schadenfreude over our liberal opponents’ discomfiture since Trump’s election, but to see what’s happened to some of these formerly admirable people is sad and disheartening really.
Thats why he had to go to Thailand to get laid.
I’m wondering which is worse: KG holding up a bloody but obviously fake DJT severed head or Donald Jr or Eric Trump (I’m not sure which did it, seeing all the pictures of dead animals had me closing the tab) holding up the bloody severed tail for an elephant?
Now, don’t get me wrong: I am not anti-hunting. While I haven’t hunted in years I used to go squirrel, rabbit and coon hunting. And I love when someone gifts us a few pounds of venison. And I still go fishing.
And I do understand why the hunting of big game is allowed over in Africa. Both the economics and the conservation aspects.
What I am talking about is simply which photo is more disturbing.
I didn’t find the KG one disturbing: tasteless, unfunny up until a Futurama thought crossed my mind (Nixon) and then it went back to being unfunny.
I also would have thought a few republicans would have had a moment’s pause upon seeing the bloody tail of their party’s symbol being held aloft by their candidate’s son.
Look, he has returned to America where he can talk shit of the Head of State with next to no restriction. He’s got to get it out of him.
But some other time when I’m more idle I should delve more into the content of your post there, I think there are things to be explored.
They have shown they don’t care about the destruction of their party, as long as it sates their jonesing for Liberal Tears.
Was this supposed to be anti-Republican in the same way as Griffin’s photo was anti-Trump? I don’t know the context, if any.
Regards,
Shodan
I think that a lot of the people who are “over the edge” about trump are in that condition because they think he’s actually going to do all the crazy shit that he campaigned on. A little reality check here, these clowns can’t even accomplish the one thing they all agreed needed to be done. Repealing Obamacare. Mussolini at least made the trains run on time.
I don’t see what the big deal was. TrumpTards just have no sense of humor! …Actually, I don’t think Kathy was or is very funny. She just seems to blurt out semi-embarrassing things about celebrities like a 12 year old who thinks they’re being clever. Went over the line here, I guess, but actually there was no ‘joke’ except to be gross. (I do love the Trump/Putin S&M photos, though. No one seems to object to those much.) She should make herself scarce a few months and keep her mouth shut, though there is no guarantee a gross, mouthy woman will be ‘forgiven’. Like Mel Gibson, creeping out from under that rock he’s been hiding under, Hollywood clasping him to its bosom.
A little reality check? Here you are…
Without commenting on Kathy Griffin’s actions, but as far as the internet lynch mob mentality: I wonder how far it will go.
I assume most people feel pretty much powerless to affect their lives in a broad sense. Wars keep happening, climate change ain’t gonna “get fixed”, crime and tax rates creep up, and the rich and powerful seemingly able to “get away” with being creeps.
Now comes along the Interweb, and a vocal, numerically small amount of people can (rightly or wrongly) get celebrities (and to some extant, politicians) fired, and/or careers ruined. If they (the celebrities) get credible seeming death threats, this may lead to great emotional torment. In other words, some people who are used to feeling powerless now have an avenue to finally affect the world around them.
I can only imagine (or worry?) what this “feeling of power” might do to the powerless. It may very well be intoxicating. Will we enter a time were a segment of the population seeks more and more to “use” this power, just for it’s own sake?
If she ever wrote a book about the ugly truth about political harassment in America today, I’d only wish that I could help her out with it.
