When I’m in a Skype chat and pull up another window, I get a small window with the webcam of the person I’m talking to. It’s easy to move and small enough to tuck unobtrusively into a corner, but it stays on top of whatever I’m taking notes on or browsing so I can still see them.
I really like to watch videos while I’m working–is there a way to make Youtube do the same thing?
It’s possible and easy to do it. There are some browser-specific solutions and some that work for all browsers.
In Firefox, you can watch the video in sidebar or use a separate program to keep the window always on top as described here. There’s also a simple extension for keeping a Firefox browser window always on top.
For other browsers, a separate program that allows you to keep one window always on top, such as the one used in Firefox example or the aptly named ontop, would probably be the easiest solution. At least for Windows operating systems there are many such applications and they are all really small as the functionality is really quite simple.
