I want to copy a small part of a youtube clip to show to my class. What is the easiest way to go from youtube to a flashdrive?
A website such as keepvid.com will allow you to save the YouTube video as an FLV or MP4 file. You may need software on your computer to play the video file.
If you do not want to use a third-party web site to download the video, you can use the DownloadHelper Firefox extension. As Dewey Finn points out you still require a video player to play the FLV or MP4 video file you just downloaded. VLC media player is free and will play both files types without the need to convert to a different file format.
I’m a big fan of RealPlayer. You get a drop down box at the top of each video you play for downloading it, and it can play back the stored videos in their MP4 or FLV format.
